Here's an interview with John Catler, who makes the necks pictured above. Well worth listening through to the end, as he explains it fairly simply for those of us who are musical sub-literates (interview begins 6min in):

And if "multiple simultaneous tempi" sounds like what you've been missing all your life, look no further than:

Here's a fantastic collection that tends toward "popular" sounding microtonal music:

Any thoughts? Is this stuff old news for the musical veterans here?

So Carl's music is all about breaking down rhythmic conventions, how about the other dimension, the harmonic?

Thread about just intonation with lots of music posted:

Free PDF of a great explanation of this stuff (heavy on the maths)

If you go looking for interesting microtonal music, post your favorite finds here! It may take a few listens to warm up to it, it took me a couple weeks of casual listening until it no longer sounded "out of tune":

Last one is the Zep tune, pretty interesting.

Here is a good lecture by Doug Lisle, PhD -- from Forks Over Knives, about the science of weight loss.

While I am an actual person, it could be argued that I am a fake user, portraying myself as some enigmatic entity of mysterious origin, when in fact, I am some guy sitting with his laptop attempting to author funny comments on too many social media sites.

Marco's got a new album on the way, through Lazy Bones. Called Celebration. I'll be selling 'em as usual. Check out the audio sampler -- really weird blend of timbres he's got going on there.

Lady and Gentlemans: I am once again opening The Forum.

I've had terrible luck with Spam Bots over the years. To get it going again, I had to manually delete thousands of fake users, and ALL topics. I don't know why this happens to me. Boo-hoo.

We'll see if I can keep them out this time around, with the assistance of technical assistance!
